Privacy Policy

What We Collect
We collect and store:
- Content sources you provide
- Content fetched from public sources
- Email content you forward to your personal ingestion address
- AI-generated briefings based on your topics
- Your account information (email, authentication data)
Email Forwarding
When you forward emails (such as paid newsletters) to your unique ingestion address:
- We process and store the email content you send us
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share this content with our service
- You control whether this content is kept private or made publicly accessible
- We do not share your forwarded emails with third parties
Browser Extension
The Header browser extension is optional, and it acts only when you click it.
- Your API key is stored on your device so the extension can reach your Header account. You can revoke it at any time from Settings → API Keys.
- Page addresses. To add a source, the extension reads the current page's address and looks in its HTML for a feed link. To clear tabs, it lists your open tabs so you can choose among them. Tab titles are used only to draw that list on your screen and are never sent to us — we receive the addresses of the pages you select, together with the topic name and description you type.
- Page content is fetched and summarised by Header from the addresses you submit, in the same way as any other source you add.
- The extension runs no analytics of its own, and sends nothing in the background beyond checking whether a briefing you started has finished.
If you use “try it once” without an account, the extension creates an anonymous device account identified by a random installation identifier. That identifier is stored in the browser's extension storage and, if you have browser sync turned on, syncs with your browser profile so it survives a reinstall. No name or email address is collected. Signing up links that account — and any briefing you created with it — to your Header account. An unclaimed anonymous account holds only the content you submitted.
